First, vancomycin allergy is rara and the commen scenario is red man syndrome which can be avoided by slow infusion second, a new study mentioned daptomycin as alternative but we need further clinical trials to be considered

Third, vancomycin added due to the high incediance of resistant s.pneumonia so if the gram stain exclude this microorganism, no need to use vancomycin
