After some digging for more evidence I found that some studies supported the possible benefits of budesonide for treatment of pneumonia in children.

Budesonide (Pulmicort) is indicated for asthma, not for pneumonia.
Actually it can cause respiratory infections in more than 30% of the patients.
So, yes, don’t give pulmicort for pneumonia.
