At first, it’s not recommended to give Gast-reg (Trimebutine) less than 12 years old.

In case you decide to give a medication to pediatric without a reference dose, you may extrapolate the proper dose from the adult dose. In our case (Trimebutine) usual adult dose is 200 mg/dose 3 times daily.

By applying the BSA-Adult Method, the dose of pediatrics will be as follow:

$$\text{Pediatric Dose} = \left(\frac{\text{Child’s BSA in m}^2}{1.73 \text{m}^2}\right) \times \text{Adult Dosage}$$

$$\text{Pediatric Dose} = \left(\frac{\text{Child’s BSA in m}^2}{1.73 \text{m}^2}\right) \times 200$$

Reference to Pediatric Dose Calculator and navigate to BSA-A tab.

Use this method only as a last resort when no other options are available, and no established pediatric dose reference exists. Dosing relies on multiple factors that cannot be determined by BSA alone.
