Dr ordered a mother to give her child quarter tab of sabril (vigabatrin) and to dissolve it in 5 ml water , but she couldn’t as the tablet only scored into halfs so she dissolves half of the tablet in 10 ml water and gives him 5ml only?

Originally can sabril  be crushed (enteric coated) ?

If so, is this preparation accurate and for how long could it be stable and what are storage conditions?

With references please

Sabril can be crushed and extemporaneously prepared as some studies found.

If you used 500mg tablet, then the concentration you prepared is 25 mg/ml either you used 1/4 tablet in 5 ml or 1/2 tablet in 10 ml, they are both the same concentration. We can not be sure of the stability of this concentration unless we make a stability study to verify its stability.

So I recommend, if you use this concentration, to freshly prepare each dose just before the time of administration.
